研究成果
新生代亚洲季风变化及机制是地学研究热点,生成可靠的亚洲季风变化记录对理解高原隆升-地表风化剥蚀-新生代气候变化之间的耦合关系十分重要。中国北方的新生代盆地是揭示新生代中-东亚气候变化及其驱动机制的关键站点,几代地学前辈们利用这些盆地的沉积物,尤其是黄土高原黄土红粘土粉尘序列,产生了一系列具有国际影响力的成果,使我国的古气候和古环境研究处于世界领先地位。然而,由于古季风代用指标的复杂性,关于第四纪以前东亚夏季风变化的一些关键科学问题还存在一些争议,阻碍了对其驱动机制以及季风变化对区域环境和全球气候影响与响应的透彻理解。因此,对古气候代用指标进行更为深入的研究,将可能推动对东亚气候变化历史、驱动机制以及气候变化对大陆侵蚀和沉积搬运能力的认识,促进对高原隆升-地表风化剥蚀-气候变化的耦合关系这一重要问题的正确认识,完善地球系统科学理论。 在上述科学思路的指导下,聂军胜教授团队首先开展了黄土与红粘土磁性矿物类型、浓度和粒度比较工作,发现了对温度和降水有不同敏感度的磁学指标,揭示出利用强磁性矿物与弱磁性矿物浓度的比值研究轨道尺度季风变化比单纯利用强磁性矿物浓度变化具有明显的优势。在此基础上,建立了晚中新世以来东亚气候变化记录,并分析了其与构造事件、太阳辐射、大气CO2浓度、海面温度和全球冰量变化的关系,深化了对东亚气候变化驱动机制和天文轨道参数变化驱动气候变化机制的认识。随后,对比分析了东亚夏季风变化与亚洲粉尘堆积速率和源区变化的关系,揭示出东亚夏季风变化与亚洲粉尘堆积速率和源区变化具有同时性,加深了对亚洲粉尘产生机制和季风变化对大陆侵蚀和沉积搬运能力的认识。 围绕上述方向在Nature Geoscience (2018)、Science Advances (2018;2017)、Nature Communications (2015)、Geology、EPSL、GRL等杂志发表第一或通讯作者SCI论文32篇,近五年通讯作者论文17篇(其中第一作者论文10篇)。所有论文被SCI杂志引用1330次,发表在Nature Communications上的论文入选ESI前 1%高被引论文并被收编进英文地学教材,发表在Nature Geoscience上的论文被Nature网站选为亮点文章。
